PRENATAL YOGA

SUNSET YOGA

 

A blend of asana (yoga poses) and pranayama (breathing practices) designed to wring tension from the body & mind. A variety of poses each week will include strengthening & toning, stretching, cultivating balance and core integrity. We will apply mindful awareness throughout as we restore balance and ease. All practitioners welcome.

 

IYENGAR YOGA: Building a Personal Practice

 

This class will be taught as a 15-week series. Students also have the option to attend individual classes, as often as they like, understanding that each class builds successively on material taught and experienced.

B.K.S. Iyengar gave the students of Yoga an invaluable gift of alignment. The props he developed give the possibility to adapt the practice to students’ particular needs. Iyengar Yoga sets strong foundations for continuous practice and expanded consciousness about the body-mind-spirit interaction.   

Use your regular class passes and attend as often as possible to benefit from continuity in your practice.

RESTORATIVE YOGA

 

Restorative yoga uses physical postures to undo the tension, misalignment, and injury that shape our bodies and our life experiences over time.

Restorative Yoga calms the effects of stress and spreads energy throughout the body to promote healing and equanimity.

Through the use of props and with the help of gravity, restorative postures repattern our everyday habits of movement, increasing joint and muscle flexibility, and bringing ease to our everyday activities.

 

MEDITATIVE YOGA

Hatha Yoga experience that focuses on flexibility, balance, and to a lesser extent, strength. Focus on one's inward experience keeps the session meditative, from the initial breathing experience to the final Namaste. All levels welcome.

 

YOGA

A basic class that embraces a variety of styles of yoga. Participants are encouraged to challenge themselves while attending closely to their bodies' signals, thus protecting them from injury. Close attention is paid to the breath and intention of movement. All levels welcome.

 

KUNDALINI YOGA

Brought to the west by Yogi Bhajan in the late 1960s, Kundalini Yoga is a science, art, and practice that fosters awareness of the physical body, the human energy system, the mind, and the spirit. A traditional yoga, it combines posture (asana), breathwork (pranayama), sensory awareness, and meditation. Experience challenge, steadiness, relaxation, and peace. There are no formal levels in Kundalini Yoga -- all are welcome.

 

GENTLE FLOW YOGA

Start your day with a gently invigorating flow style Yoga practice.We will move through a flowing series of poses designed to gradually awaken the body and mind. Each class will end by exploring a more restorative style of Yoga, allowing you to emerge fully rejuvenated and ultimately providing greater energy, calm, and focus throughout the rest of your day.

 

SATURDAY MORNING YOGA

Designed to develop self-awareness through relatively challenging poses & practices. Focus on strength, balance, and flexibility, within a framework of mental & emotional equanimity. Brief meditation period and readings from yoga and other spiritual texts that encourage us to take our practice from the mat into the world. Suitable for people with a basic understanding & practice of yoga.
